Description

An oxygen concentrator is a medical device used to deliver supplemental oxygen to individuals with respiratory conditions or other diseases that affect breathing. It works by taking in air from the environment, removing nitrogen, and concentrating the oxygen, which is then delivered to the patient through a nasal cannula or mask.

  • Provides a constant stream of oxygen. Suitable for patients who need a steady supply of oxygen.
  • It typically offers flow rates between 1-5 litres per minute (LPM). The required flow rate depends on the patient’s medical needs.
  • Most devices provide an oxygen purity level of around 90-95%.
  • Regular maintenance is required, such as cleaning to ensure the concentrator functions properly and delivers pure oxygen.
